 have been a massive fan of Totakeke from the word go, lets get that straight. This has been a highly anticipated release for me. I always preferred this project rather than his main source of accomplishment ‘Synth-etik’ routed to us via the Hands label. In a word ‘Elektatote – The Other Side of the Tracks’ is fabulous. Frank Mokros has a huge grasp of spatial awareness and always likes to situate the listener in a specific time and place.

 Drift is the final chapter in a trilogy of releases on the Spectre label from this water obsessed Belgian act.
What Kraken bring to the table is a rich healthy dose of electronic-analogue ambient and I have been consistently impressed with their releases on Spectre and sub-label Nautilus, which has always devoted itself to all things wet.
There has always been something with Kraken that drifts (for want of a better word) between retro and the contemporary. Oozing along like an old horror flick that has been given a dust-down and polished, ‘Drift’ manages to engage the listener with an intensity and magic all of its own. |

 Tympanik are slowly ‘emerging’ (groan) as a label which are evolving into a monster with a decent roster in electronic underground circles.
Simplistic, but aesthetically pleasing in its dual CD packaging, Emerging Organisms gives us 29 tracks from some artists we know, and some lesser acts which are undeniably going to make themselves a name. Scene long term faces such as Displacer and Architect sit comfortable alongside such acts as Lucidstatic and Freeze Etch giving balance and harmony of older acts that built foundations for the scene, to shelter the young ones as they flower.
Diversity is also a key factor in this compilation being a winner from the word go. |

 I am a writer and an editor for more than 8 years in various magazines and have interviewed numerous bands. It is always interesting to meet and individuals whose music I admire because I get the chance to talk about my favorite art...music. Talking with Tony Young was always interesting for various reasons and I will not hide our friendship but when we went through this interview...well that was something I never saw it coming. It began with the intention to talk about the new album and a lot of stuff actually, then alcohol came in, then Clint (Synnack) came in and then..........Sex, Emo, PINK PVC, the role of Iphone in the music industry, how ESA came to life, how important MACs are.....all these crucial questions will be answered. Well I never knew if this would see the light of day or lets say the world of the internet, but since we all decided to publish this I have to warn you for 2 things. First of all this is not an ordinary interview and secondly DO NOT ENTER IF YOU ARE NOT 18 YEARS OLD.

While her new 3rd album, "Hearts For Bullets", is currently being produced in Canada by Sebastian R. Komor (Icon Of Coil, Zombie Girl, Bruderschaft, etc.), Alfa Matrix has started the pre-orders via its web shop for Ayria's newest 10-track EP "The Gun Song". The two main studio version tracks, "The Gun Song" and "Six Seconds", were produced by Sebastian R. Komor and were also remixed for the occasion by several acts including Front 242's Daniel B. who took care of "The Gun Song". |

 The first thing that hits you when you pick up this release will be the outstanding packaging. Set within a just smaller than 7” embossed sleeve lay two 3 inch CD’s. It’s a bizarre way to expose an album, but nonetheless not entirely surprising when you consider the imagination of the man behind the project. Bauke Van Der Val is a prolific artist within experimental circles. To view Law-Rah’s works as Dark Ambient would be a farcical trip into lazy journalism, and one route I refuse to venture toward.

 As a general rule, the majority of albums filtering through from camp Cold Meat are pretty much bang on. CMI as a whole stands for quality. Of course there is the odd rare moment of turgid claptrap. Cue Golgatha. Which is a pity because as stated above this looks the part perfectly. A5 digi-pak, glossy screen printed CD, the fact it’s on Cold Meat, who never used to suffer many fools in the industry. This is a prime example of C division music that has been polished in the studio and comes out loitering around the low end of the B division. Its ambient ritual neo folk, but it lacks depth and character. |

 This is a nifty compilation from brand new Greek label Spectraliquid. It makes a refreshing change to have the majority of an album comprising of basic unknowns and still be of top notch quality standard. Spectraliquid pretty much have stamped where they are at from the off. Deep resonating industrial soundscapes that ping-pong from all out industrial to the fringe of IDM circles. It’s an effective compelling mix that whilst we have all heard before, already displays a deep rooted grasp of what is actually worth a listen, never wandering off into anything catastrophic or aurally defective. |

 There is an underlying decadence to the works of Bain Wolfkind. Like some bastard son of Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave, Wolfkind drawls and ponders life draped in a wall of black, like some paladin amongst a sea of Film Noir. Yes this does have some sort of dark romanticism, and it’s clearly the image Bain is trying to portray. With such fancies however, you really have to have the goods to pull it off perfectly, and here unfortunately this is where he just falls short. The music itself is fairly decent, a blend of guitar, organ, tambourine and such like mixed with his vocals. |

 Latexxx Teens (LXT) & Anima Virus.
Codename Latexxx Teens: Androgynous, technocratic, iconoplastic. The band was formed in Italy during the famous national black-out of 2003 by Icy X, (better know as Krimloth, singer of the bombastic black metal band Draconian Order), P.P. 69 and Lex Kaos.
Codename: Anima Virus: They signed with Decadance Records and his forthcoming official debut album to be released in 2008!
The project was born in 1996. The sound of the band is close to the late seventies post-punk tradition: early Christian Death, Cure, Bauhaus..
